Cottonfield, Company
Cottonfield is a small, woman-owned business in California (previously located in Massachusetts) which prides itself on supporting organic agriculture and dignified, adequately-paid workers as it markets classic underwear and sleepwear for people everywhere. Thirteen years of experience have earned for us a strong reputation in the environmentally-friendly clothing business.
Yeumei Shon is the founder and owner of Cottonfield, a socially-responsible business that designs and manufactures certified organic cotton clothing. Ms. Shon creates simple yet fashionable designs for her relaxed, stylish apparel and oversees the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of her garments. Cottonfield also offers select products from sister companies which share our values.
Ms. Shon was raised in Taipei, Taiwan and graduated from Shi-Chiang College's Department of Dress Design. Following her graduation, Ms. Shon held the position of Instructor of The History of Chinese Women's Costume, Pattern Making and Tailoring and served as an Assistant Professor. She also studied design at Tokyo Fashion College and marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
To stay current on trends in the eco-industry, she participates in several trade shows each year. For example, she has participated in a Biodynamic agricultural seminar with Bob Connor in California; a Rudolf Steiner seminar at Sunbridge College, New York and a conference at Waltham Organic Farm in Massachusetts. Ms. Shon participated in the Whole Thinking Retreat at Knoll Farm in 2008 and is a Senior Fellow of the Environmental Leadership Program in Washington, D.C., which focuses on environmental justice and sustainability. She is an alumna of The Center for Whole Communities in Vermont (www.wholecommunities.org), which teaches people how to deal with water and landfill issues while building community.
Cottonfield offers flattering women's and men's styles for a wide range of sizes and body types made with superior-quality fabrics purchased from fully-certified suppliers in the U.S. Those who wear our products appreciate the extraordinary beauty and durability these natural fibers provide. You can rest assured that your clothing has not been made in an overseas sweatshop.
Years of experience have shown us how to provide excellent customer satisfaction. We will work closely with you to help you find undergarments and sleepwear that you will want to reorder year after year. Once you try our products, you will not go back to cheap, non-organic, sweatshop clothing. We are proud of being leaders in this exciting movement toward high-quality, ethical clothing.
